Abstract

Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) play a vital role in Indonesia’s economy, yet they still face challenges in improving their performance and sustainability. This study aims to analyze the impact of access to capital and digital payments on the performance and sustainability of MSMEs, with performance serving as a mediating variable. Data were collected from 375 MSME owners in Indonesia using a 1–6 Likert-scale questionnaire and analyzed using the Partial Least Squares–Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) method. The results show that access to capital and digital payments have a positive and significant effect on the performance and sustainability of MSMEs, both directly and through performance. These findings support the Resource-Based View (RBV), the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM), and the Innovation Resistance Theory (IRT), and provide insights for the development of SME policies.
