Abstract

The phenomenon of a decrease in the number of training participants in 2024 compared to 2023, particularly in the Juru Takar Training Program at the Human Resource Development Center for Metrology Quality and Trade Services (BPMJP), has become a notable concern. This decline occurred despite BPMJP actively utilizing social media as a means of information dissemination and promotion. Therefore, this study aims to examine how social media is used, how participants make decisions, and to what extent social media influences participants’ decision- making in attending training programs at BPMJP, this research uses a quantitative method with a Slovin sampling technique from a population of 424 participants. The sample consisted of 81 respondents selected using purposive sampling. Data were collected through questionnaires and analyzed using simple linear regression, including validity tests, reliability tests, classical assumption tests, and t-tests, the results of the study show that social media has a positive influence on participants’ decision-making, thus reinforcing the importance of utilizing social media as a strategic tool for information and communication to support faster and more accurate decision-making processes, this research is expected to provide both theoretical and practical benefits, particularly for BPMJP management in formulating more effective communication strategies through social media to increase participant engagement in future training programs.
